Meet the Teachers

Hi! My name is Mikaela and I am so excited to be your child's preschool teacher!  Thank you so much for putting your trust in me as your child's educator.  My goal is to help your child grow academically, socially, behaviorally, and physically this year, while always respecting them as people and learners. 

In 2011, I began working at Tiger Tots Daycare before/after school. Since then my love for children, and preschool children in particular, began to grow.  My husband and I are both teachers in the Des Moines Metro and really enjoy the work we get to do.  We have lived here in Madrid since 2018, but I also went to Madrid High School as a teenager (go Tigers!).  I graduated from The University of Northern Iowa in 2017 with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with certificates in Special Education and Reading.  This is my second year teaching preschool here at Tiger Tots, and I also taught in the Pleasant Valley school district as a Kindergarten teacher.

In my spare time I enjoy reading the latest children's books, walking around town, and going to the Filling Station!  My husband and I are also passionate about foster care.  If you would like to know more, please contact me sometime so that we can chat more about it!

Hi! My name is Rhonda. I have been working at Tiger Tots almost 20 years!  I absolutely love working with children and watching them grow!!

I'm married to my wonderful husband, Roger, of 29.5 years and I have 2 grown children Jodi and Dustin.  I have 6 grandchildren-all fun loving boys!  I also have 1 grand puppy, a cat, and a dog.  

I'm very excited for preschool and working with your children!!

Hi my name is Alyssa!  I have been working at Tiger Tots for 5 years. I love working with the little ones in preschool!  I am a Madrid alumni who also went to Tiger Tots as a kid.

I am a cat mom to one cat, Flashy.  In my spare time, I love reading and watching movies,especially Marvel movies.

I am excited because this is my second year working with Miss Mikaela and I believe we are going to have an awesome year!
